Logo Philosophy

Tree of Life is the most ancient cross cultural symbolic representation of the universe's construction. The Tree can be seen to dwell in three worlds - a link between heaven, the earth and the other world uniting above and below.

The concept of the Tree of Life is often related to immortality and the essential dualism of the world.

Egyptians referred to the Tree of Life as the Tree in which life and death are enclosed connecting the two worlds. It is also mentioned in the Book of Genesis in which it has the potential to grant immortality to Adam and Eve and is also a simile for a blessing. It is mentioned in the 15th chapter of Bhagavad-gita as Ashvatta.

Various 'Trees of Life' are recounted in world theologies, philosophy and mythologies. This one is designed by Jaidev Baghel from Kondagaon, Bastar district, state Chhattisgarh. Brass, bronze, alloy casting 49" height, 35" width & 35" depth from the Paramparik Karigar collection a non-government organization trust formed by and for traditional crafts persons.
